Big Sky Stream Flow Measuring/Analysis

Gaston Engineering and Surveying was hired to monitor and record all incoming surface water flow rates into Lake Levinsky in the Mountain Village of Big Sky as required by the Army Corps of Engineers. A concrete weir structure was designed for the three main tributaries to the lake and Gaston Engineering also inspected and managed all construction activities to install the weirs.

The project required delineating the wetlands in the construction areas and obtaining the necessary permits to disturb the wetlands within the three construction areas. Calibration of the sharp crested weirs was conducted post construction to ensure accurate flow rate determination.
